It has two very different beaches, Playa Mansa on one side, and Playa Brava on the other. The latter is sought after by surfers and the former by those looking for calmer waters.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_to_see_and_do\"><\/span>What to see and do?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The &#8220;Punta del Este fingers&#8221;, or &#8220;Punta del Este&#8217;s hand&#8221;, is the typical photo of the place. The Man emerging from the water is the name of the sculpture. Today it functions as a museum, restaurant and accommodation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/pdeleste4.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5357\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/pdeleste4.jpg 800w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/pdeleste4-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Every evening at sunset, the sun ceremony takes place, which consists of watching the sun set while listening to a recording of P\u00e1ez Vilar\u00f3&#8217;s voice narrating a poem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"600\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/puntadeleste1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5359\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/puntadeleste1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/puntadeleste1-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I leave you here the <a href=\"https:\/\/museos.gub.uy\/index.php?option=com_k2&amp;view=item&amp;id=76:museo-casapueblo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">web<\/a> for information on ticket prices and schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the Punta Ballena area we can also visit the Lussich Arboretum, which with almost 200 hectares is a forest reserve with a great diversity of species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Towards the other side of the peninsula, further east, we find the area of \u200b\u200bLa Barra. The bridge that leads to it is a very peculiar bridge.
