Patton, Cleopatra, Mar de pl\u00e1stico&#8230;. death had a price&#8230; Curro Jim\u00e9nez&#8230;. we associate all these names with the film industry, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Shall we take a tour of some of the many film locations in Almer\u00eda?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As I think we have already detailed <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/en\/what-to-see-in-the-city-of-almeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">well what to see in Almeria capital<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/en\/what-to-see-in-mojacar-village-almeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Moj\u00e1car<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and a road trip through <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/en\/car-route-through-cabo-de-gata-almeria\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cabo de Gata<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, we are going to add film sites to your stay in Almeria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We move to the first film location in Almer\u00eda, we go to what was the setting for the film Exodus and which was later used for Game of Thrones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"el-chorrillo-pechina\">El Chorrillo, Pechina<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7900\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-2-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Located on the slopes of the Sierra de Alhamilla we find the El Chorrilo area in Pechina, and in it the sets, it is about 15 kilometers from Almer\u00eda Capital, and you can find them marked on Google maps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here, Exodus Gods and Kings in 2014 and scenes from Game of Thrones from the sixth season were filmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we said we are in Pechina, here is what was an outdoor recording set built for the film&nbsp;<em>Exodus<\/em>&nbsp;by Ridley Scott and that Game of Thrones, with some modifications, used it in the sixth season for the scenes of the city&nbsp;<em>Vaes Dothrak<\/em>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In both cases, it has not been the only location used in Almer\u00eda. In the case of Game of Thrones, we have already seen some others in other videos, and in Exodus we will see some more later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Access is not complicated and walking through these abandoned buildings has something magical about it. If we continued to explore these mines we would find scenes from Duck, Damn, from 1971, Curro Gim\u00e9nez, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade filmed in a mining tunnel, A Reason to Live and a Reason to Die in 1972, and also scenes from the previously mentioned Exodus. But the place is quite abandoned and up to this point we are the only ones who dare to go there.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-11.jpg\" alt=\"Locations in Almeria\" class=\"wp-image-7902\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-11.jpg 800w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-11-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:100px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=1IjOT6_lizbeEkp6gEDyftn9lvq1tal2f&amp;ehbc=2E312F\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"text-align:center;\"><iframe class=\"civitatis-iframe\" src=\"https:\/\/www.civitatis.com\/widget-activities\/?affiliated=10563&amp;display=compact&amp;cant=4&amp;lang=es&amp;currency=EUR&amp;zone=193&amp;activities=2303,55282,122455,93047&amp;transfer=0&amp;cmp=Widget_Almeria_Provincia_ES&amp;width=100%&amp;hideButton=0&amp;centerContent=1&amp;typeSelection=manual&amp;color=5f9ea0&amp;typography=Montserrat&amp;removeBackground=1&amp;showShadow=1&amp;roundedButtons=1\" width=\"100%\" frameborder=\"0\" data-maxwidth=\"100%\" style=\"max-width: 100%\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next stop<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"cortijo-del-fraile\">Cortijo del Fraile<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speaking of abandoned places we arrive at the next location in Almeria, we arrive at the Cortijo del Fraile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-6.jpg\" alt=\"Locations in Almeria\" class=\"wp-image-7905\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-6.jpg 800w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-6-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A sign on arrival shows us all the films filmed here, as well as some series such as Paco&#8217;s Men.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-7.jpg\" alt=\"Locations in Almeria\" class=\"wp-image-7906\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-7.jpg 800w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/almeria-7-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To get to the Cortijo del Fraile we will go to Los Albaricoques and from there we will see that a dirt road is signposted to the farmhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Nijar, very close to Rodalquilar and Los Albaricoques, we find the Cortijo del Fraile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In its vicinity took place in 1928 the event known as&nbsp; &#8220;Crime of Nijar&#8221;, which inspired the drama in verse by&nbsp;Federico Garc\u00eda Lorca&nbsp;Bodas de Sangre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It was built by the &nbsp;Dominican&nbsp; Friars of Almer\u00eda in the 18th century, hence its name. It was known as the &#8220;cortijo del hornillo&#8221; (farmhouse of the oven), because it housed a large oven for making bread in the central courtyard. In 1836, it was confiscated by the state and, after auction, passed into private hands.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The farmhouse and its surroundings have been used for various film shoots such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, For a Few Dollars More, I Am the Revolution, Don Juan, among many others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The state it is in is really quite neglected, we had seen it in videos before going but we found it even worse, and with signs warning us not to go through due to the danger of collapse. In any case, these types of places always have their charm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/embed?mid=1IuGA2uEA2KnDTrgSkU9tgWIZHHPCBlEn&amp;ehbc=2E312F\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\"><\/iframe>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And we go to the last film location in Almeria, which we visited, which as we said are just some of all the ones there are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The visit will now be to a natural place, we go to the Rambla del Buho in the Tabernas desert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span class=\"tadv-background-color\" style=\"background-color:#ffffff\"><em><strong>Are you coming to Spain from far away like us and having internet all the time is a problem? The Turtle. <\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The way to get to this location in Almer\u00eda is at the exit right next to the Fort Bravo theme park. I am leaving the map below with the location to make it easier to get to this location in Almer\u00eda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In our case we went because we knew that it was a location for Game of Thrones, but once we arrived we found signs that told us that scenes from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Two Scoundrels in the West with Bud Spencer and the series Mar de Pl\u00e1stico had also been filmed here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As you will see, in the posters it marks more places in this desert of Tabernas with film locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This Llano de Benavides, also known as Llano del B\u00faho in the La Tortuga area, was the setting for many western films in addition to what I am mentioning.
