For a month and something we were touring part of Italy, we rented the car in <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/en\/what-to-see-in-rome-in-5-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Rome<\/a><\/em><\/strong> and we would return it at the end of the whole tour. We rented it from <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.discovercars.com\/es?a_aid=europaacompanada\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Discovercars<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So we left Matera very early, visiting some of the towns we found along the way and leaving others for the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we said Alberobello is a small town and a&nbsp;municipality&nbsp;in the&nbsp;province of Bari&nbsp;(Apulia). They are famous the&nbsp;trulli&nbsp;of Alberobello, declared&nbsp;Heritage of Humanity &nbsp;by the &nbsp;Unesco&nbsp;in the year 1996. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"960\" height=\"540\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Puglia-alberobello-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-15792\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Puglia-alberobello-2.jpg 960w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/12\/Puglia-alberobello-2-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u200bThe origins of the city date back to the second half of the Middle Ages or to the beginning of the sixteenth&nbsp;century&nbsp;when as an existing rule in the&nbsp;Kingdom of Naples the birth of an urban agglomeration required the payment of tribute; &nbsp;so the settlers built their houses to dry stone, that is, without cement, so that they could be demolished in case of inspection Having therefore to use only stones, the peasants found in the round shape with domed roof, composed of overlapping stone circles, the simplest and most solid configuration.&nbsp;&nbsp;The symbols painted on the roofs of the trulli often took on a religious meaning, sometimes they could represent the signs of the &nbsp;zodiac or other pagan signs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is how we find today not only in the city but in the Itria Valley with this type of striking constructions<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dedicating a few hours to this part of the city will be enough to get to know it since it is not that big, walking and discovering charming corners is wonderful<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can join a city in <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/en\/matera-italy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Basilicata, Matera.<\/a><\/em><\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:29px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.civitatis.com\/es\/bari\/excursion-alberobello-matera-libre\/?aid=10563&amp;cmp=postalberobello\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Excursion to Matera and Alberobello<\/a><\/em><\/strong> from Bari, or excursion to <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.civitatis.com\/es\/bari\/excursion-alberobello-monopoli-polignano-mare\/?aid=10563&amp;cmp=postalberobello\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alberobello, Polignano a Mare and Monopoli<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Stay in a teal<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We chose to spend a night to enjoy sleeping in a trulli, we chose the <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/hotel\/it\/trullo-monte-santo-50.es.html?aid=2008743&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Trullo Monte Santo 50<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, it is charming and spacious, but you have many options, yes, make sure that it is a real trulli if that is what you are looking for, because in some cases it may look like it on the outside and not be, look well at the photos of the interiors on the hotel search website,  We use <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.booking.com\/searchresults.es.html?city=-110108&amp;aid=2008743&amp;no_rooms=1&amp;group_adults=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Booking<\/a><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/alberobello-2.jpg\" alt=\"Alberobello, Puglia\" class=\"wp-image-15850\" srcset=\"https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/alberobello-2.jpg 800w, https:\/\/europaacompanada.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/01\/alberobello-2-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The one we chose was very spacious and comfortable, we had a voucher included for breakfast in the village, a coffee with croissant, cold cuts and cheese and to be able to continue our journey. Cosimo was in contact with us via WhatsApp the whole time before we arrived, which was very helpful. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As we were telling you, we went by car, so we needed parking. I&#8217;ll tell you which was our choice since the experience was good, but there are many more sides to it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You can go by public transport from Bari if you are staying in the city, it will take you about two hours or so.
