Before that, we’d pass by a place we hadn’t yet seen, the Palace of Caserta. That morning, we went to pick up the car at Termini; we rented it from Discovercars.

But here I have to tell you something we discovered just a few days ago while uploading videos about Italy. It’s called Trayectis, and it’s designed for us Spanish-speaking travelers who are going on road trips, and who arrive at a rental counter and struggle with the language to understand that we have a thousand suitcases and therefore need a very large trunk because we’re traveling across the ocean to spend an average of 20 days in Italy, or that it’s our first time in Europe and we need friendly and efficient service to help us experience car rental as a wonderful experience.

The options are family-friendly vehicles with room for luggage, and the option to add a cooler, mate and thermos, umbrellas, and beach chairs—all the things we can’t bring from our countries. We loved the offer and will try it as soon as we can return to Italy. Here’s a discount coupon to use with Trayectis: EUROPAACOMPANADA5

We dedicated 4 days to Naples, which we already have in this post.

Of the four days, we dedicated one to going to Procida, which is well worth it. We went by ferry and rented bikes, but if you want to see the details, we’ll leave them in the special post.

And another day we visited the ruins of Pompeii, Herculaneum, and climbed Mount Vesuvius. Remember, since we were driving, we optimized our time, but otherwise, it’s best to choose just one of the sites.

For all tours we used the Naples Pass Campania, and we began our contact with Naples through a free tour.

Speaking of road trips to see in Italy, this one was one of the most beautiful we’ve ever taken. Puglia is one of the most beautiful and picturesque areas to visit in Italy.

We stayed in a trullo, Trullo Monte Santo. During that time, we toured the city center with the trulli, and other villages like Martina Franca, Ostuni, Polignano a Mare, Locorotondo, and Cisternino. If you go, I recommend spending more days there, of course, if you can, because it was very short for us.

The next morning would be a day of only road, 870 km separated us from Mestre.

Venice 2 days 870 km

Venice was the next stop. We arrived on the outskirts of Mestre in the early evening, Malcontenta specifically. We checked into the Hotel Palladio, had dinner, and then rested. Tomorrow we could cross to the island very early to dedicate two full days to it, since we were staying two nights there.

Two days would give us time to explore Venice and visit Burano and Murano. The accommodation, Manin Apartments, was very close to Piazza San Marco. Needless to say, they’re all beautiful. Italy has so many things to see, and Tuscany is no exception.

Siena was a city we chose to stay in. I think it’s worth it. I don’t know if it’s often chosen as a destination in itself, but rather as a day trip. The truth is that a visit to its Cathedral is very, very worthwhile. Its floor, which is only open on certain dates, is a wonderful work of art, as is Piazza del Campo, where the Palio di Siena is held every year. We have a special post with all the details for organizing this visit to Siena. The accommodation is very close to Piazza del Campo, B&B Il Corso.

2 nights in Montepulciano 65 kilometers

In the midst of all these last tours, we took the opportunity to visit other Tuscan towns, but in Montepulciano we would stay two nights to be able to explore the Val d’Orcia area more leisurely, since it is one of the areas I like the most.

Montepulciano is beautiful and has that Tuscan essence of a medieval town and captivating wines.
