Going up the Eiffel Tower is the first thing that comes to mind when planning a visit to Paris, especially if it is your first visit to the City of Lights.

Well, then we are already settled in Paris and we are going to do the most popular activity, go up the Eiffel Tower.

What should we know before going up the Eiffel Tower?
1► You have two destinations to choose from, you can go up to the top, or just get to the second floor.
2►You can take the entire journey by elevator, you can combine stairs and elevator, or if you only go up to the second floor, you can take the entire journey by stairs.

►Lift ticket to the summit €26.80

These are the 2022 prices for adults, in all cases there is a different rate for children from 4 to 11 years old and for young people from 12 to 24 years old, children under 4 years old go up for free.)
Opening hours: 9.30am to 11.45pm (main entrances close at 10.45pm)
How to avoid queues
While you can get the tickets on the spot, and thus decide the best time in your stay to make the climb, getting the tickets online will avoid the queue for the first leg of the climb. They can be booked up to two months in advance. You will choose the day and time you want to visit, and thus you will save a lot of time, as you will go to the Eiffel Tower at the agreed time. The online box office offers, as long as they are still available, tickets for the same day if you wish.
My recommendation is to get them in advance, so you can choose the way you like best, and it is also very possible that if you wait until that day you will not get tickets.
This way you avoid the longest queue, which is at the ticket office and waiting to go up, but not once you are on the second floor and want to take the elevator to the top, or to go down, just in case it is worth clarifying.
How and where to get tickets
Tickets on the official Eiffel Tower website are available two months in advance and places are limited, so if you travel during the high season and don’t make a decision in advance, it’s very likely that you won’t get a ticket.
Don’t despair, you can get your ticket to climb the Eiffel Tower without queue on other websites, the price is a little higher, but you are sure to skip the queues, and something very important: you have free cancellation up to a few days before, in case you change your plans.
Each ticket will be issued with the name and surname of the visitor. On the day of the visit, you will arrive with your clearly printed ticket and your identity document, preferably arriving at the site fifteen minutes before the time of the visit in order to access the atrium at the time indicated on your ticket.
The day of the visit
As we told you, on the day of the visit you should be under the Eiffel Tower preferably fifteen minutes before the visit time in order to access the atrium at the time indicated on your ticket. Remember to bring your printed copy and an ID because they may ask for it.
►There are two entrances to access the gardens and then access the atrium, 1 the south entrance, 2 the east entrance, according to your comfort and proximity to them you can choose:
Access 1: If you are coming from the Bir Hakeim metro stop, or from the RER C Champ de Mars stop.
Access 2: If you arrive from Campo de Marte or Trocadero.
Now you have passed the security check at entrances 1 or 2, and you are in the atrium. Head to the east or west pillar: if you already have your elevator access tickets, look for the queue with a green flag for direct access. If you do not have a ticket, you must stand in the queue at the ticket office, yellow flag. Go to the south pillar: if you want to go up by stairs, you can buy tickets for the second level by stairs, or top, stairs + elevator, blue flag.

If you have access by elevator, you will first go up to the highest point that your ticket allows, and now yes!!……….ENJOY!!
There will be a lot of people at the top, on the second floor and on the first floor too. Take it easy and have time. Once there, enjoy it.
