Sarajevo, a city between two cultures
One of the first things that strikes you upon arrival is how two cultures coexist, separated by little more than a street corner. In just a few minutes, you can go from a distinctly Ottoman environment, with mosques and bazaars, to one with a strong Austro-Hungarian influence, featuring Central European-style buildings and wide avenues.

Baščaršija is the historical heart and one of the most important places to see in Sarajevo. Here you will find:

Staying near this area is a great idea. In our case, we stayed right at the beginning of the Ottoman Quarter, at the Hotel Art, which made sightseeing much easier, and it also had parking, something unusual in the city center.

As you move away from Baščaršija, the city changes completely:
