Tips on where to stay in London and map
London is a big city where we will find many areas to stay, making it a bit difficult to decide on a neighborhood or area. The city has 33 districts, so we will only look at some areas, districts or neighborhoods.
Here we will try to give you a look at possible areas where you can stay as a tourist in London. Accommodation is not cheap, but you have many options, and you can find numerous bed and breakfasts that are a good option to save money.
As we always say, try to find accommodation that offers free cancellation. There are many that offer this option, and it is advisable to book them this way, especially in these times when there is so much uncertainty.
Here on the map are some of the areas in which we will search.
Having a train or metro station nearby will give us good mobility options in London, and also to other cities in the United Kingdom.

London’s West End
The West End is a very central area of London, it is perhaps the most popular area among tourists, therefore the prices will not be very low.
In this area we find Oxford Street, Picadilly Circus, Leicester Square, Trafalgar and Chinatown. We also have well-known neighbourhoods where we can look, such as Covent Garden, with its famous market, or Soho, a cultural and entertainment area with a lively life.

Westminster
If we talk about popular and central areas, we find Westminster. Hotels in this area are still quite expensive, but we will certainly want to do some research and try to get lucky with a good accommodation option.
Here you will find iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and the Palace of Westminster, and Buckingham Palace. You will also be close to the piers where the tourist boats leave for the River Thames.
Without a doubt, it is one of the most popular areas to stay in London. Here are some hotel options.

Our experience in Victoria
To the west of Westminster we find the Victoria area, and Victoria Station in it.
Victoria Station is one of the most important stations in London, you will find very good connectivity in this area.
In our case, as we said, we chose to stay near it, more precisely at the B+B Belgravia. As we said above, another option apart from hotels are b&bs, they are cozy, somewhat cheaper in price, and with a closer service.
This accommodation is a few blocks from the aforementioned station, which makes it be in a good location, the room simple but of a good size, breakfast included that is left in the minibar of the room, although also for a separate price you have a breakfast in the living room. The service is very good.

Paddington
In the north of the City of Westminster, located north of Hyde Park, we find Paddington, a well-connected area, especially if we take into account the station of the same name located in this area. You can find good accommodation offers in this area.

The City of London is the financial district of the city. It has attractions such as St. Paul’s Cathedral, the Tower of London, or Tower Bridge. We can also choose it as an option for accommodation.

South Bank
This area is located south of the Thames, close to Waterloo Station. It is home to the iconic London Eye.
It is a good option to get accommodation, mainly near the Thames and the Ferris wheel.

Camden
In the Camden district we find the famous Camden Town, a shopping and entertainment place with a very special personality.
But we have more things to see in the district, such as the British Museum, the British Library, Regent’s Park, the London Zoo, and in the already mentioned Camden Town, the Camden Market.
As you can see, it has various areas. If we are looking for a place to stay in London, this may be another option.

King’s Cross
The proximity of stations such as King’s Cross and St Pancras is a good option for staying in London and being well connected, apart from the fact that you will find good prices in many accommodations.

Notting Hill, South Kensington, Chelsea
We now go in search of some neighborhoods, such as Notting Hill, South Kensington, or Chelsea.
Notting Hill is known to everyone, among other things, for appearing in the film starring Julia Roberts and Hugh Grant, A Place Called Notting Hill.
It is characterized by its Portobello Market, and the charm of its colorful and typical houses.

South Kensington is a quiet neighbourhood in which to find accommodation. To the north we find Hyde Park, which is also a well-connected area.
