The Olympic Games will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, and the Paralympic Games from August 28 to September 8.
It’s almost time for Christmas and Paris is full of stands, scaffolding and construction sites, the city is preparing for a party.
Paris will host hundreds of thousands of people for the celebration of these games. 206 countries will have their delegations in the city for the competition, and 32 disciplines will feature 10,500 athletes.
An average of 1 billion television and online viewers are expected.
We start with the place where the inauguration will take place.
Although it may change for security reasons, the opening ceremony will take place on the River Seine, unlike the usual event in closed stadiums.
The delegations’ barge tour will cover 6 kilometres from the Austerlitz bridge, passing by all the emblematic bridges of the Seine and ending at Trocadero, just opposite the Eiffel Tower.
In addition to hosting the opening ceremony, the Trocadero esplanade will host Triathlon, Road Cycling, Athletics and Open Water Swimming.
In front of us we see the emblem of Paris, the Eiffel Tower. Painted for the big event in its bright golden brown colour, the symbol of Paris is getting ready. On the Champ de Mars, which we can see now closed to take care of its grass and the stands that are already beginning to appear, the temporary Eiffel Tower stadium is being set up, where we will see beach volleyball. As well as judo and wrestling in the arena that will be set up temporarily.
Continuing to visit the iconic sites of the City of Light, we will go to the Invalides, where the Archery and Athletics disciplines will take place. While cycling will take place between the Invalides and the Alexander III Bridge.
Temporary bleachers will be installed on the Alexander Bridge, apart from cycling, Triathlon and open water swimming will be seen here.

If we walk a little further we arrive at the Grand Palais. The Grand Palais will host Fencing and Taekwondo.
Another place that is seeing major construction is the Place de la Concorde, which will be turned into an open-air stadium. Here you will be able to see street skate boarding, 3X3 basketball, BMX cycling and breaking. It will also be the site of the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games on August 28.
We go to the town hall to the Hotel de Ville. The Hotel de Ville will host Athletics
The Stade de la Defense will host Swimming and Water Polo.
Versailles is also preparing, here we will see Equestrian and Modern Pentathlon.
Football will be played at the Parc des Princes, the Stade de Nice, Bordeaux at Saint Étienne and Nantes. Tennis at Roland Garros
At the Paris Aquatic Centre, artistic swimming, water polo and diving.
