Dining on the Seine River in Paris sounds very tempting, doesn’t it?
When we travel to Paris, most of us look for a good hotel location without spending too much, good tours, some of them free, in short, we put together a step-by-step itinerary to have the best travel experience.

But sometimes we want to treat ourselves, whether we’re thinking about proposing marriage, celebrating an anniversary, a birthday, or simply enjoying a special night for no reason at all.
And that’s when we start looking for options, and one that comes up very often is having dinner while sailing down the Seine River.
The same thing happened to me, I was going to celebrate my birthday in Paris and I started to consider options. When you start reading the comments, that’s when you start to get confused, so much so that I had already given up on doing this activity. “That they didn’t give us a window, that we couldn’t find the dock from which it left, that the food was little, that it was bad, that it didn’t include drinks” and more things. And on the other hand, there were also comments that it had been a wonderful experience.
So what we’re going to do is tell you the step by step as always. Are you coming with us to have dinner on the Seine River? I’ll tell you how it turned out on the way.
I’m going to refer exclusively to the one I booked. There are several boats that offer this activity, I made a comparison, I evaluated and this is the one I chose, I leave all the links in the description and in a post on the blog along with some photos of that night.

Arrival and time for dinner on the Seine River
The time for the departure of the boat is at 9:15 p.m., boarding is 15 minutes before, so it is a good idea to be half an hour in advance
The departure of this option is from the Solferino pier, we can get there by metro or RER.
The nearest metro stations are Musée d’Orsay (RER line C); Assemblée Nationale and Solférino. We arrived at Solferino, very close to the Musée d’Orsay, just a couple of blocks away. From the museum it is only a few metres to get down to the quay.
Let me clarify, as we said, there are many options for dinner boats and not all the boats leave from the same dock, which is why some people are confused about the departure. In this case, it is the Paris Seine.
Menu
We had a table for four by the window, we chose the romantic menu, this menu includes half a bottle of water and a glass of champagne per person. To which we then added a bottle of wine. We will detail the costs later.
As the sun began to set, we set sail on this tour, which would last two hours, and we were served the tickets.
The starter can be chosen between foie gra or smoked salmon.
Everything was organized, we were able to relax, without being rushed, and the dishes arrived on time and in the correct manner.
The dress code, for those who have doubts, is that it is forbidden to enter in shorts or Bermuda shorts, everything else is fine.
If you are wondering if you can take photos outside because of the reflection, the truth is that there is a reflection but it looks great outside, and the images you take don’t come out so bad.
Late in the tour they served the main course.
The options for the main course are chicken breast or fish fillet. In our case, we all chose fish.
I can tell you that for our taste both the starter and the main course were very good.
When I booked I saw on the website that there was a vegetarian menu for those who requested it. All these kinds of things, if you need them, please indicate them in advance for this or any other reservation.
And when the night came, dessert arrived. The choices are between chocolate bonbon or crème brulee.
The night is coming to an end, we are approaching the Eiffel Tower, and that is when the attention is turned to those celebrating some special event. There was an engagement and my birthday.
Prices for dinner on the Seine River
As we said, there are two types of menu. The 2022 prices for the menu without drinks is €85 per person and the romantic menu (which includes a glass of champagne) is €139. There is free cancellation up to 3 days before the event date.
To this you may add extras: in our case we added, as we said, a bottle of wine (€35/45).
During the evening a photographer came to the table to take photos of us, which they offer you if you want to buy them after dinner.
All the data I gave them is from the option we chose.
The end of the evening is under the Eiffel Tower when it turns on all its lights. Magical? Yes!
As I have told you before, the tour alone is worth it. You don’t have to take this one to do the tour, but it is an option for a special night.
Our opinion
Was it worth it? For us, yes, absolutely. It is expensive, no doubt, it goes without saying, but you pay for the experience and for us it was worth it. Especially for a special night.
