In this visit to Gramado and Canela in which we saw what to see in the city, how to get there by the Romantic Route and the visit to the Aparados da Serra park to see the canyon, we will add one more route and that is to know the Vale dos vinhedos, the valley of the vineyards that will take us through cities, vineyards and wineries.
Our route will start in Gramado and we will put destinations to Bento Gonçalves.

The previous name to the current Bento Gonçalves was Dona Isabel and together with what is now Garibaldi they received the first wave of Italian immigrants in 1876 and 1877, Italians coming from the north of the Tyrol area and who colonized what we know today as the valley of the vineyards.
In 1878 another 25 families came, in 1879 another 17, and in 1880 another 3, coming from Lombardy, mainly from Mantua and Cremona.

We are welcomed in Bento Gonçalves by a large barrel that gives us a preview of what this route will be like.
The Vale dos Vinhedos District was created by municipal law in 1990 and had its name suggested by the community due to its location and landscape: a valley full of vineyards.
This area produces quality wines and sparkling wines, which are made from varieties grown and processed in the region. Among others, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Tannat and Merlot are grown.
At the entrance of this route we will find the map and in it the layout of it, this valley covers areas of the municipalities of the already named Bento Gonçalves, Garibaldi and Monte Belo do Sul.
Wineries such as Miolo, Pizzato, Cava de Pedra, Casa Valduga, carpet the tour, several of them offer a guided tour to tour their facilities and learn a little more about the valley and the production.
Next to these establishments we also find inns where we can stay. And from here we can also continue along the Estrada del Sabor and take the opportunity to taste some typical products of the area.
The road takes us to Monte Belo do Sul.
We have two beautiful viewpoints in this city, the first one next to the arch that welcomes us in Monte Belo do sur, with beautiful views of the valley, I recommend stopping.
And the second one in the city with views towards Bento Gonçalves and a truly wonderful valley.
We left Monte Belo do Sul to continue towards Garibaldi and finish the tour there.
It is a route to take slowly, stopping and enjoying the scenery, it is a highly recommended tour.
